Day 38: Sunday!!!

Oh how I love the Sabbath day!  Going to church, having something consistent that’s totally the same as at home, but especially feeling the spirit so strongly keeps us grounded and makes us happy.

O and her friend Sally after Primary
Getting lost however, and not being able to find the chapel isn’t quite the same as at home but whatever.  We went to 3 different addresses from LDS.org before we actually found a meetinghouse.  I don’t know what was up with that, we’ve never had a problem before with LDS.org but there you go.  We arrived 30 minutes late and disappointed a very excited primary president who thought she had prayed us there.  I hadn’t thought of the impact a family with 8 children moving in would have on one of these small wards until I saw her face fall.

We were so fortunate to have the Temple accommodations!  They had a full on kitchen with well used but clean supplies.  We were excited to be able to prep the food we've found we enjoy.  One thing we’ve realized here is the hot dogs are terrible, but the sausages aren’t bad.  Only problem is, the sausages aren’t pre cooked.   The park BBQ grills will cook them, but it takes FOREVER and it’s often raining when we’re driving—probably because any time it stops raining we can see all the neat things there are around and we stop to check them out!  What I’m trying to say is, we’ve been eating a lot of cold sandwiches.  I think the kids are ready to revolt if they have to eat another sandwich so we came up with some alternatives.
We bought some 10 inch pita and some pizza sauce.  We fried some pepperoni (nothing like at home) and sausage (better than at home) and chopped some capsicum (bell pepper) and grated some cheese.  We also browned some sausages (hot dogs).  We have eaten well today along the road since all we have to do is warm instead of cook.  And those pizzas are pretty divine!

π must have taken this pic, I hadn't seen it until posting them here!  Such a sweet little girl!

The rest of the day was just driving—avoiding the highway in favor of the “fun” roads.  Cody would add an extra month to our trip if he could just so we could drive the fun way.  We stopped at random beaches, we sang Somewhere Over the Rainbow in the rain while standing under a rainbow, we crossed a thousand bridges and really just soaked up the Aussie countryside.

Pure road trip bliss!
