On days when we pack up to move to the next city I realize
why people think I’m crazy for traveling with 8 children. That’s a lot of crap! It takes a monumental effort to move that
many people and enough stuff to sustain them!
That’s not even taking into consideration the resistance my
heart was putting up. It’s such a rare
treat to get to spend time with my family that leaving them to tour the country
is heart breaking! They’ve been the most
gracious, welcoming, inviting hosts—it really makes it even harder to say
goodbye.
I love that this apple farm runs on the honor system! |
We eventually pulled out of Cathy’s around 2:00. Just 32 hours later than we’d hoped to
leave. We made our typical 15000 stops
in the first 5 km—the stop for gas, the stop to potty (after they just went at
the servo), the stop for snacks, the stop at the apple farm that we’ve been
trying to get to all week (where we met a couple from Utah no less!) We finally made it 45 minutes without
stopping when we saw the sign,
Chocolatier and Ice Creamery
Suddenly everyone needed to go to the bathroom again! And weren't we happy to see they have a toilet just for me and pi!
This place was incredible!
We could have stood and watched the umpa loompas making lollies for
hours!
And then there were 3 vats of
chocolate chips that were free for the sampling! And then there were these:
Who wouldn’t want to buy Australian animals made out of
chocolate?
We had a cold ham sandwich picnic since we couldn’t find a
BBQ park (naturally it was 5 minutes farther down the road!) but no one cared since dinner started with
ice cream and chocolate. It’s amazing how, once we’re on the road it’s
all okay—it’s just the getting there that’s difficult!
