Day 30: O day and Lantern Tour

We have been promising O that we would go to the city of Oakleigh to buy her a pair of shoes for days now!  Today we finally made it!

We stopped at just about every shop with the name Oakleigh written on it.

The Dentist.

The Pain Clinic.

The butcher.

The Poultry Shop.

Not so fresh at the Fruit and Vegetable stand.

Starting to get the point?

She was really getting sick of taking these pictures by now.

It was great fun.  We had so much fun shopping in Oakleigh we were there much longer than we'd expected to be.  As it was we had just enough time to go back to Cath's to pick up the other kids, let them come to the shops and get some treats for folks at home then head out to the lantern tour.

Oh, quick aside here--we had quite an adventure trying to get cash this afternoon!  A word of advise, know your credit card's pin number before trying to get cash out!!  And know how to dial an over seas number before you leave the country as well!  Of all places to not take credit cards I figured a city this close to Melbourne (about 20 minutes) would never be a problem.  Boy was I wrong!  Everywhere else we've been-no matter how remote-has taken our card.  Hahaha  Live and Learn I guess!

The Haunted Lantern tour was incredible!  Scary but not too bad for the little ones.  Loads of fun for everyone.  The guy's accent made it the best!

After the tour back at Cathy's was the best.  This was the activity I have looked forward to the most.  Sitting around playing games with the cousins.  It was as fun as!  We laughed as we taught them American Rules Uno--kind of like Aussie rules football!

We pushed two tables together and Cath had to climb onto them to get the snacks in the middle!

Jordane is a big fat cheater.

It was just too much fun!

Adding new rules to Uno was a bit hard for the older generation to follow but they sure got a kick out of watching us play.  I swear the more I get to know Aunt Bonnie and Uncle Lyle the more respect I have for them and their wonderful family.

Then we brought out the Great Dalmudi.  I love this game!  It was a riot playing with all these guys!

Not wanting to miss out and go to bed, Cath sat on the couch watching until she just passed out.  This woman has bent over backwards to make sure we have a great time.  We are so indebted to her!  This has been a truly sensational trip and the credit all goes to her.  She is just so amazing!

And now I should follow her example.  It's 3:30 in the morning and church is just 7.5 hours away.
